Joint Partner Planning: the Easy Way to Skip Partner Pain

When you cover technology as a journalist, you often see themes that repeat themselves. For example, when I was writing about network management, it astounded me that many companies were struggling to retrofit a management solution to their network two or four or ten years down the road. The emphasis had simply been on getting the network up and running, with no thought as to how to monitor and manage it. Had that planning been done earlier the technical tasks required would have been easier, and the companies struggling would have been ably to skip all the pain. But the pain forced them to think about management, and so it went.

In the PRM space, that’s still a common theme: get the channel program up and running, then try to figure out how to gain visibility into it. But this fix, today, can be a lot easier than it was for the network management pros of 15 years ago – if you seek out and act on expert advice.
