Relayware CTO Awarded a Patent Related to Big Data Distributed Computing

Posted on August 11, 2016

In April Relayware welcomed our new CTO, Roi Amir. He came to use from NICE, which provides enterprise software solutions that empower organizations to make smarter decisions based on advanced analytics of structured and unstructured data.

Just recently Roi and his team at NICE were awarded a patent for managing information from many different data streams. This is a huge simplication of patent number 9,396,448 issued by United States entitled, "System and Method of Multi-End-Point Data Conferencing." It is a very complex and difficult problem.

To add a little more color to a big data problem that many of us never think about, keep in mind all of the information that companies receive from customers from many different places. For example, customers are calling into the call center. They are Tweeting and posting messages on a company’s Facebook page. Customers may use the live chat function or send in an email. All of this information not only lives in different places, it’s also structured very differently.

Roi’s team at NICE not only created a way to handle large amount of data coming in very different forms in a consistent and efficient way, but also created that system to be open enough to accommodate the future. Who knows how people will be communicating next year, much less 5 years from now. Going one step further, it’s not just bringing all the information together, but being able to analyze and categorize it. This is where this new patent comes in.

Roi’s experience working with distributed information from different systems is similar to the way Relayware aims to bring together channel partner data. Our customers want data to connect from their CRM to their partner portal to their through partner marketing software to social media. And our content rich database does this, but there is even more power that we can add to this engine to continue to strengthen the tools that our customers have. With Roi at the helm, we have in-house experience to build even more deep analytics on top of our content rich database.

Congratulations, Roi on your recent patent. We’re so glad you are part of the Relayware family!
